Habakkuk's Cry - Habakkuk 1:1-4
Habakkuk penned the words of this book. It was written to the Southern Kingdom. At this time, the Southern Kingdom was not taken captive, and the Northern Kingdom is already gone. As Habakkuk looked around him, he saw the children of Judah still living in wickedness, and not repenting and turning to God. One would think that Judah would repent and turn to God after seeing the judgment of God on Israel. Yet, they lived as though it could not happen to them. Habakkuk was troubled by the wickedness around him. God has richly blessed us as a nation, as a church, and as individuals. When we see the sin in our lives and the sin of our nation , it should break our hearts and bring us to tears tat we would respond to the grace of God in such a manner. Are your eyes often too dry? We must allow our eyes to affect our hearts.
