Introduction Of The Kinsman Redeemer - Ruth 2:1-3

Ruth and Naomi are now in Bethlehem. They came back to Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest. Ruth now decides to go to work in the fields and obtain provision for her and her mother in law. Boaz is introduced and is a type or picture of Christ. Boaz is not a perfect picture for only Christ is perfect. He shows Christ as the Kinsman Redeemer. We will observe several similarities and a few differences. One major difference between Ruth and us is that she already believed in Jehovah. When we come to Christ we are not a worshiper of Jehovah. We must all turn to Christ for redemption.
